Let everyone answer in their own words

A multiple-choice question steers the answer. An open question leaves room for what you did not expect: feedback, a concern, an idea. Each participant writes their answer on their phone, and it appears live on screen.

Use it to collect audience questions during a conference: participants write, you choose which ones to answer. Or at the end of training: “What will you apply tomorrow?”. In anonymous mode, answers become more candid.

How to use it in a session

  1. Ask a precise question

“What did you take away from this morning?” gives more useful answers than “Any comments?”. Say what you will do with the answers.

  2. Give people time to write

Writing takes longer than clicking: allow one or two minutes. Answers appear as they arrive on the shared screen.

  3. Read and build on them

Read a few answers aloud, ask for details, group recurring ideas. That exchange is what gives the question its value.

Frequently asked questions

Can I collect audience questions during a conference?

Yes. Ask an open question such as “What would you like to ask the speaker?”. The audience writes questions on their phones, they appear on screen and the host chooses which ones to answer.

What is the difference with a word cloud?

A word cloud expects one or a few words and highlights the most frequent. An open question expects a sentence: an opinion, an explanation, a question. Choose according to the depth of answer you need.

Can answers be anonymous?

Yes. When launching the session, you choose anonymous or named answers. Anonymity encourages candid feedback, especially on a sensitive topic.

Do participants need to install an app?

No. They answer in their phone’s browser after scanning the QR code, opening the link or entering the 8-digit code shown on screen.
